Speaking right now about my most latest purchase, the Breitling Blackbird in the Windrider Sequence, and also the view which is defiantly ‘front row’ on the instant when not sat proudly on my wrist, though that is often the situation with new buys (nicely for the couple of months a minimum of!).
Have to say Breitling is just not my favourite brand name, I do uncover lots of their pieces a bit also fussy for my liking, even though I have owned a couple of Breitlings in past times along with the items that We have had and also the ones that We have nowadays have already been amongst my favourite watches. I currently have just two items, this one particular and another latest acquire, a Superocean Heritage 38 in the Auqumarine variety which was acquired new at the again finish of 2007
The Blackbird that I’m talking about these days could be the second era of this enjoy, I had the initial era Breitling Blackbird which was a 12 months 2000 model that I had picked up 2nd hand. The design and quality through the Breitling ranges is unquestionable and this Blackbird is no exception, this really is a beautiful view! This version of the Blackbird was released in 2007 and a replacement with the original Blackbird variety which ran from 1995 to 2004 and is a smaller/lighter view. The new design comes with a Breitling 44 automatic movement that has a Big Date and Chronograph complication and it has a 42 hour power reserve. The case is brushed stainless steel which has a diameter of just over 43mm and a thickness of 17mm. The situation again has also had a revamp and I genuinely do like the design with ‘Blackbird’ embezzled across the centre. The Bezel is unidirectional, there is a screw-locked crown along with the crystal is Sapphire. The dial is truly a nice looking thing, 1 of the things that is a move from the older model of the Blackbird may be the location of the Date which has shifted from your right side of the dial to the centre under the 12. I truly do like the location of the date and think it offers something different and provides more symmetry to the dial, personally the date is just not a must for me on a enjoy but there again I won’t dismiss a piece just because there is a date present and this observe defiantly falls into one not to be dismissed! The Batons and Hands are Superluminova. I also truly like the Bracelet on this observe which is a Breitling Pilot and comes in brushed stainless steel to match the case. The 20mm wide clasp is also brushed stainless steel and there is a flip lock that is marked with the classic wings and Breitling logo.
The fit and finish on the Blackbird is excellent and in my opinion it isn’t also fussy like several Breitlings can be, it is truly a lovely watch that oozes style and character.
